What was your first job in the meetings & events industry?
Meetings Assistant at APRO/Assn. of Progressive Rental Organization. Currently Director of Meetings and Conventions at APRO. This is my 30th year as a meetings professional.
What’s the best part of your current job?
Seeing attendees grow professionally and personally, while having an enjoyable and memorable experience at one of our events.
What was your motivation for joining PCMA Gulf States?
To participate in educational opportunities as well as network with other meeting professionals.
Best kept secret in your city or area (hotel, venue, attraction, etc.)
Austin has grown so big and busy that it’s hard to point to one thing. I would say maybe explore the smaller areas around Austin. The Texas Hill Country is famous for its beauty and some of the small outlying towns are a great experience. The bluebonnets in the spring are amazing! Austin is a good hub for doing that.
Favorite app, website or tech tool?
Skype for Business is a great way to stay in touch with your co-workers no matter where you are.
Desert island meal?
Ice cream! (Lots of it!)
