M.T. Hickman, CMP, CPECP has been recognized as the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Honoree for Education and will be honored for her exceptional contributions to the industry at the PCMA Visionary Awards, held March 9, 2023 at the Gaylord National in National Harbor, MD.

As the director of all curriculum development, recruiting, and training activities for the HEEM Program at Dallas College Richland Campus, M.T. is dedicated to providing students with state-of-the-art training and hands-on experience in the hospitality and event management field.

M.T.’s passion for education and her commitment to helping students expand their knowledge and experience in the industry is what sets her apart from others. She is a tireless advocate for her students and dedicated to building relationships between industry and academia. Her goal is to develop others and lead by example, inspiring the future leaders of the meeting and event industry.

M.T.’s leadership and innovative approach to education has played a significant role in the success of Dallas College – Richland Campus, including receiving the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige Performance of Excellence National Quality Award, putting the college in the top performing colleges in the nation in 2005.

Many of M.T.’s students have gone on to productive careers in the meetings industry, elevating their own statuses and that of the industry. M.T.’s influence on students and the HEEM program at Richland College cannot be overstated. She has developed an outstanding meeting planning program that serves as a well-respected resource for students and employers alike.
