Lunch, Learn & Laugh – Dallas Comedy House

Join us for a fun and interactive improv-based business skills workshop

Comedy at Work! Did you know the tenets of improv are useful tools in a professional environment? The concept of saying Yes! to ideas AND adding information to support those ideas helps organizations and individuals build a cohesive group mind dynamic they can carry with them throughout their professional and personal lives. In this session, you will be introduced to the ways improv can impact your business performance and learn techniques to that will help increase your value to your organization and improve your working relationships.

At the end of this session, participants will:

• Recognize the power of “Yes, and…” thinking and the benefits of staying positive in team collaboration
• Understand how active listening can help you drive productivity and improve interactions with your colleagues and customers
• Be familiar with techniques to enable you to be more adaptable and think on your feet

 

PCMA Gulf States Chapter is a CMP Preferred Provider. The program identified with the CMP Preferred Provider logo meets the requirements to receive 1.5 clock hours of continuing education (CE) credit for the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) credential. About the Speaker & Facilitator

Amanda Austin, Owner/Founder, Dallas Comedy House

Amanda Austin is the Owner/Founder of Dallas Comedy House. She is an instructor for all five levels of the improv program and the department head for the comedy writing program. Amanda is the Executive Producer of the Dallas Comedy Festival (2010-2018). She has performed and/or taught at Chicago Improv Festival, Improv Festival Oklahoma, Hawaii Improv Festival, San Francisco Improv Festival, and Dallas Comedy Festival. She conducts corporate training workshops on a weekly basis for Dallas Comedy House and works as a humor consultant to various companies in the DFW area.

Amanda was recently named as a delegate to the 2017-2018 class of Leadership Dallas with the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce. She was awarded one of Dallas Business Journal’s 20 Women In Business for 2016, Dallas Observer’s 20 Most Interesting People of 2014 and one of the 100 Creatives of Dallas in 2014. Amanda is a board member of the Deep Ellum Community Association and serves on the Deep Ellum Arts Festival Committee. She holds a bachelor of Science in Journalism and Minor in Business from Texas A&M University. Amanda is represented by the Callidus Agency.
