The PCMA Gulf States Chapter welcomes one of it’s newest members – Josh Rios, Strategic Account Manager for innoVia Events.
Josh has over 10 years of experience in audio visual production, with experience ranging from client management, technical logistics to the onsite management of the crews. Josh began his career with Marriott International, and had spent several years with Encore Event Technologies before joining up with innoVia Events.
Josh recently relocated to the Dallas area and joined our Gulf States Chapter. We recently had the opportunity to ask a few questions of him:
Now that you joined, what are some things you are looking forward to or hope to see? I’m hoping to meet like-minded individuals, get involved with the community, and network with fellow chapter members.
What do you see as the biggest challenge for our industry today? The challenge for our industry is education. Our goal is to show the industry the value of audio visual services that can achieve their corporate goals. Educating planners is on the top of my list. Whether they use a hotel or a production company, helping partners to have access to good information will help create a movement towards a more client focused industry.
Favorite Quote & Why I do it? “This is why I’m here. This is…this is what I’m supposed to do.” – Jack from the television show “Lost;” It’s a good attitude to have.
Best kept secret in your area (hotel, venue, attraction, etc.)? I am learning more about Dallas each day. I will have a better answer for you after my first year. But, I love to eat, if you want to discuss the best wing restaurants in the USA, I am your guy!
